Finding a book on a city-wide treasure hunt

Bing promotes Jay-Z's new memoirs with a new site which combines geolocation with a unique search engine that takes fans to the settings of the legendary rapper's songs.

Why does it matter

1. This project promotes Bing more than it does Decoded. 2.It's a good reason to log off Google for about three minutes.

VISIT THE WEBSITE

Bing brings us an interactive game and multifunctional site for the launch of Decoded, the new autobiography by Jay-Z. By incorporating Microsoft’s search engine (including Bing Maps and Bing Entertainment), it gives fans the chance to virtually “visit” the locations that have inspired the artists’ work. During the month previous to the book’s release (November 2010), users could “decode” the rapper’s lyrics and have a chance to win tickets to the star’s New Years’ Eve concert.
